Happy Full Moon everyone.  Tonight was the first chance I've had of taking part in a ritual since Beltane, as well as leading one since even before that.  We held it outside near Chartiers creek at Boyce/Mayview Park.  It was a beautiful night for it.  My girlfriend joined me in circle.  It was our first time working together.  She likes things a lot simpilier, with more improvisation and fewer tools.  I'm more use to a rote style, and everyone knows boys like their toys.  I told her she gets to lead the next one. 

This month's ritual was a little bitter sweet.  The park is having construction on one of it's trails to add handicap access.  This meant bringing in a machine to mow down LOTS of trees, to make room for even in more machinery.  My girlfriend said it was like "Fern Gully". 

So, as our spellwork, we worked in a spell for healing and forgiveness in honor of the trees.  We acknowledged the sacrifice the trees made in the name of human progress, asked for forgiveness, asked for blessings and prosperity for the community, the park, and ourselves, and asked that the Goddess bring the trees back quickly to heal the area and to provide shelter and protection for the local wildlife.  Luckly, some of the trees that were spared were ones that had orioles nests, as well as other wildlife.  Pictured here is something I made from the wood of the trees that were cut down, and used as the focus of our work.  Afterward, we tossed it into the creek to carry the energy out into the world, and release the spell.
